+spell dmg % broken?

finally hit 51 today and was toying with new builds on my pyro.  reading some advice from other places and people were saying spell damage was broken.

so i thought i'd try it out.

there was no noticable difference between naked and fully geared (i've been stacking +spell damage %)

Naked - 52% spell Bonus
geared - 316% spell bonus
geared + searing embers - 466% spell bonus

the only difference i noticed between the 3 states was between naked and geared a slight raise in damage, very slight.  which i attribute to the gain of about 40 wisdom.


Can anyone else confirm this?

If it is broken are there any plans to fix it in the near future?

it was broke on europe aswell, they only just managed to fix it before it shut down. We played with no spell dmg for a
good few months. Its not the only thing broken.

yep broken seems the word of the day.  noticing a lot of them as i get more into the other things in the game other than lvling. 

crafting is a nightmare lol.  easy to lvl if you want to agravate your carpel tunnel (*sp) but hugely chaotic, too many mats per level and pointless as far as i can see.

I'm surprised more people aren't replying to this! I can confirm spell bonus doesn't work and it also seems that one of the pyro skills that gives 70% fire damage doesn't work either. Perhaps all bonus damage for pyros is broken? I really do hope the mods can pass this on to the devs considering this affects the entire class as a whole.

Think you mean that skill named internal flame wich giver +70% fire damage

For marksmen, there are two skills where you get a buff if you kill something. Rally works but Insight doesn't. This is very easy to reproduce since you just kill something. You get the bonus defense and accuracy from Rally but you don't get the bonus critical chance from Insight. This was posted in the Gadgeteer forum by other players as well.

I hope you guys fix spell bonus relatively soon since this is one of the core gameplay that's quite broken :).

There's a bug with the passive skill "critical modification" as well. The bonus effects don't apply unless you add a point into the prerequisite passive skill "Tinker."

Steps to reproduce:
-Level Tinker to 1
-Max Critical modification
-Level Tinker to 2

In other words, critical modification needs a point in tinker afterwards to update the stats. If you max Tinker right away, you will never get the effects.

I found a bug in Gadgeteer -- Marksman.
   *Piercing barrage does 3600 [max] critical strikes with my 2600 damage, but RapidRefire does maximum 4500 [max i ever got]
The weird thing is that RapidRefire have 470% bonus damage, while PiercingBarrage is really small.
Please fix the tooltip of the skill to not show up a fake 470% dmg bonus.

Update: Testing of Rally and Insight

Base                     ATK     DEF
                             296    404
Rally Max [13%]    334    456     Correct
Insight Max           255    484     Correct
[total 20%]

Plus for insight, the duration of the bonuses at max are 13 seconds, again correct.

However Insight has no effect on Crit. Chance as it should.

I am wondering if the mods can give us any update on the spell bonus bug? I thought it would've been fixed by now but I guess the main priority isn't this even though it really should since it leaves one third of the classes in the dark.
